Other People's Money is set in New York and Rhode Island in the late 1980's - a time when "greed was good". Andrew Jorgenson is the paternal Cairman of New England Wire & Cable, a solid old company just ripe for a takeover bid. Enter Lawrence Garfinkle, a brash abrasive, donut munching New York investment banker who is intent on taking over the company, closing it down and packing the receipts.
